Welcome to the website of Shenshawpotoo Lodge 276 of the Order of the Arrow. The OA is Scouting’s national society of honor campers. We serve Shenandoah Area Council, which is responsible for six counties in northern Virginia and 3 counties in the panhandle of West Virginia. Summer is in full swing, which means so are OA Callouts at Camp Rock Enon. There are only a few Callouts left, but we always need help to pull them off. Tuesdays are OA night at camp, where we determine roles and help for that Friday’s Callout. If you can’t make that, please get into contact with Chris Gray, our Second Vice Chief of Ceremonies, for more information.

Our webmaster has also received several questions regarding the upcoming Ordeal. I want to answer a few specific questions that have arisen. First off, if you or your child was called out during a Friday night ceremony, he should have received a letter and a registration form giving details of the weekend. If not, forms for Ordeal weekend should be available at the Scout Office in a week or two if they are not already. The registration form will also be available on the website very soon.

If you or your child cannot make the Ordeal weekend in August, that’s ok. There is an alternative Ordeal weekend in early October. Please consult the lodge calendar for dates. Registration forms should be available in late August or early September through the website and the Scout Office.

In the next few months, please look forward to a new FAQ tab that will be posted on the website. This section of the website will be devoted to answering common questions regarding the OA, like the ones above. This will be just one of the renovations and additions to the website that will be coming very soon.
